I'll agree that cussing out the editor of the site and referring to someone with a distinctly female name as male is pretty darn stupid. However, if he thinks that, in his personal situation, it is better to have no job than one that pays $28,000, I'm not going to second guess his decision. It sounds like he has the experience to make this decision, and isn't just turning down the job because he's "above" it or something. Jobs that don't pay enough to get by are often worse than useless, since they can increase living expenses, reduce eligibility for federal aid programs, reduce the amount of time available for searching for a job that pays a living wage, etc. Just straight $28,000 > $0 doesn't cover it, and it sounds like he's done the math a whole lot better than you have. | |
