Well .. Most people would tell you to slow down ... But that's not really what it's about. It's about ... Knowing your partner, and thinking through everything you just said ... And thinking what it'll say to him, etc... And ifyou can actually see yourself being together like that, and also, if you'd be happy with the choice, barring little to nothing ...

If what you said came out like psychobabble, then you must have been thinking about this issue at least at some level during some point in the relationship. So kudos to you for bringing it up. However, I have found that searching for topics to talk about with my fiancee is a major pain in the ass and I used to go to great lenghts to keep conversation going. Perhaps you bringing up this particular topic was a last-ditch effort to find something intersting to talk about? If so, no matter what comes out of your mouth during that time is really valid and more just something to talk about. Don't put too much importance on it, if this is the case, and look at it as something to talk about (necessary even) and not much more. By the way, welcome to Pfft!

Well maybe you said a few things you wish you hadnt said, or maybe you honestly felt you wanted to be with him. Either way though feelings such as those should be taken in consideration before vividly letting them out with someone you've only known 2 months. Still though things could only go for the better, or they could change for the worse.

I have that same problem. When talking to my girlfriend on the phone, and the conversation goes dead, it gets very awkward. I end up asking her how her dog is!! Her dog!! the convo goes dead again, and the same question for her cat! its really quite annoying!
