I know exactly how you feel, but you know what? You really don't need a tight friend that will call you all the time. I know from experience because I've had it both ways. What I realized after waiting for that loyal friend to come around for years was that I had unknowingly shut new people out who could collectively fill that gap. I now lead a fuller life with many loved ones because I let them all in. Many people find fulfillment and happiness that way. To be honest, letting more people in - instead of just one - is far safer in a social sense. Having one little bridge to burn counts for a lot less heartache in the end.

I know where you are coming from. I'm lucky enough to have someone i can basically call my sister, we are that tight. But it took me ages o find someone like that. When parents know each other, they assume that the children will follow suit. Doesn't happen all the time. But yeah like jhyde said, keep your mind open to other people. I'm about to go into university, all me mates are going to different ones, so i'll have to work to keep in contact with them, but i can't forget the ones that'll i'll meet. Just hang in there man.
