Am I paranoid?

A friend recently called me paranoid because I always look both ways down what I know to be a one way street before crossing. He claims I'm paranoid, while I claim it's a comment on our society that I feel compelled to look both ways down a one way street. Now as I type this it feels I'm rationalizing my paranoia. Bah!
