School Scheduler Deserves Swift Kick in Rear
   by jhyde

I've started attending college again and the latest breaking news on the college scene is that business colleges typically make poor students for more money, whereas technical colleges typically make better students for less money. Why is that? Can anyone explain this anomaly? For me, it seems that attending a college with prestige (granted it's not Yale, Harvard or Princeton) has merely hit me in the pocketbook. I must say that I got a better education at the community college where I could a) pick my schedule b) pick my professor c) pick my class than I have so far at the business college where I can't do any of the aforementioned activities. And the most absurd is that they schedule me for classes that aren't even in my degree plan! Honestly, if I'm going to go to a school that has such prestige I should be getting what I pay for. Unfortunately this is not so in the I'm-better-than-you-because-I-went-to-graduate-school world. I guess for me, I just have to learn to adjust to my new school environment or change schools, but being already in for the long haul half-way, why stop now? I'm already screwed, but at least I'll have a degree to show for it.
