Missing the Action
by indavis <isaac@dontforgetthemilk.com>
I was sitting here wondering what to write about and was drawing a big blank. Then as I was unzipping my Palm, it hit me. Inside my Palm case was the two-for-one ticket I had to Irwindale Speedway this weekend. About that time I realized that I was going to be on the other side of the country in a hotel room. For me, there is nothing more fun than a Saturday night at the stock car races. Our local track is a half-mile semi-oval with two straightaways. The cars average about 90-100 mph going around the track. After the races you can go into the pits and meet the drivers and the crew. All in all, it makes for a fun evening and a good end to the work week. Unfortunately, I have a class to attend and it is clear across the country. To that I say PFFT. It's not that I don't like taking classes or travelling, it's just that I am going to miss the races.
